At the specialist clinic for Orofacial Medicine, three specialist dentists, one resident, two specialist dental nurses, three dental nurses, and two dental hygienists (of which one has specialist competence) work.

Orofacial Medicine operates at the hospital in Arvika and the central hospital in Karlstad, where we are co-located with the department of maxillofacial surgery and the department of dental radiology.

We receive referrals from healthcare for infection investigations prior to medical treatment, we perform oral medical investigations and treatments, and we treat inpatients.

We receive patients with complex treatment needs and provide anesthesia dental care one day a week at the Central Hospital and Arvika Hospital.

Orofacial Medicine is an expanding field where there are opportunities to influence. We are proud to provide good dental care to patients with special needs while supporting our colleagues in general dentistry. There is also an opportunity to train as a specialist dental nurse in orofacial medicine.

Your Responsibilities

With us, you will have a varied and stimulating job that mainly consists of assistance, planning, and booking of patients, often in consultation with healthcare. If you are interested, there is also the possibility of having your own areas of responsibility.

The tasks are varied and primarily concern adult dental care. It is important for us that our customers feel satisfied after a visit, and therefore we place great emphasis on service and reception.

If you are at the beginning of your career, you will receive good support from your new colleagues. In addition, we provide you with a good start to your new career as you will participate in Folktandvården's comprehensive introductory program, which combines theory with practical work.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for a trained dental nurse with an interest in orofacial medicine and good knowledge of Swedish. You have a good reception towards patients and colleagues and enjoy helping others, which contributes to a positive work environment.

You have strong analytical skills and solve complex problems by breaking them down into manageable parts. You take responsibility for your work, plan and prioritize well, and have the ability to see both details and the whole in the care situation.

A driver's license is desirable as travel is required in the position. Travel between clinics occurs during working hours and is paid for by the employer, primarily using public transportation or rental cars when necessary.

Previous experience in meeting people with complex medical needs, either in dental care or care services, is an advantage.

We plan to conduct interviews at the end of January 2026.
